Something to keep in mind for parents of 2-4 year olds: Don’t expect perfect sound articulation! Three year olds typically speak in words that can be understood about 80% of the time. Perfect articulation takes a long time to achieve for any child and children without language or communication disabilities continue to work on their articulation until around 8 years of age. Allow your child time and space to develop their articulation, don’t put pressure on them, and always make sure you’re providing plentiful and clear models of words and sounds.
